THE PROMISED LAND

“4 AM wake up calls became the norm, as we fell into the rhythm of watching the sunrise from a local point break.”

Two-a-days were mandatory, and often left us beaten and burnt. But the waves kept us coming back for more. We travelled the coastline any way we could. Whether it was the local chicken bus, a neighbour, a fisherman, or the El Salvadorian police, we could always count on a lift to a new wave.

The promise of waves was certainly delivered in this beautiful, often overlooked country.
