SATURDAY PROJECT x ALTERED BLADE II

from $20.00
Sold Out

CONTEST CLOSED

In collaboration with Altered Blade (Jorge Elias of Sooke, BC), we’re raffling off a custom hand-shaped 5’11” surf board. A master of his craft, Jorge learned from some shaping legends in California before moving his craft to Vancouver Island, where he’s leading a movement towards intentionally designed floating devices. We’re lucky to have collaborated on some of his finest work - a hybrid twin fin for performance turns, smooth gliding and easy paddling. Looks pretty fun, doesn’t it?

We’re also throwing a pair of hand-made fins, custom built Dada Fins.

Each ‘Ticket’ will represent one entry into the draw. The draw will take place on June 1st, 2023. Tickets will be available until May 31st, 2023 at midnight, or after 100 tickets have been sold (whichever happens first).

Dimensions: 5’11” x 21 1/2” x 2 3/4”

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Originally from Portugal, Jorge learned from some of the best in the business down in California before moving his craft to the south coast of Vancouver Island, where he’s leading a movement of intentionally designed crafts. There is something so utterly calming about watching someone masterfully craft a floating device so beautiful and complex.

Jorge takes a personal approach to shaping - he prefers to meet each individual and gather an understanding of their body type, skill level, and what they’re looking for out of the board before hitting the drawing board. While he has a few pro-models available, each shape is usually one of a kind and custom tailored for the rider.

We share a common commitment to the environment and to our community. He’s chosen materials with a reduced impact, substituting petroleum based resin for plant based. He’s building not only boards, but relationships with the community and we couldn’t be more stoked to collaborate with him on this project.
